Lizard Husbandry Course

Educational Reptile Displays, along with Danny Brown, will be hosting a gecko and small lizard husbandry course on January 27, 2008 (and others later in the year). Danny is at the forefront of lizard and reptile husbandry in Australia, keeping and breeding over 90 different species of lizards, numbering well over 400 individual animals. He is also an author and full time veterinarian.

The course will cover all aspects of keeping small lizards in captivity, such as housing, raising, sexing, breeding, incubation, feeding and general maintenance. The course will concentrate on the following genera -

Strophurus
Diplodactylus
Cyrtodactylus
Salturius
Gehyra

Delma
Lialis
Pygopus

Carlia
Ctenotus
Egernia
Eremiascincus
Eulamprus

Ctenophurus

Pogona

And various small Varanus

The course will feature complete enclosure set ups, live animals, hundreds of photographs and of course, the unmatchable knowledge and expertise of Danny Brown.

It is a full day, starting at 9.00am and finishing at 5.30pm at the latest. We suggest you don't make any plans that evening as we'll be pushing for time! It's going to be a pretty intense day, but we always run our courses casually, with lots of questions, stories and laughs throughout. Danny has put together an amazing PowerPoint presentation to compliment his seminar.

The course is limited to 20 people, and we expect that it will fill very quickly. For interstate travellers, we can organise accommodation. The course will be fully catered for.
