We keep and breed numerous types of fancy mice types particularly aiming to produce quality unusual varieties in both colour and coat type. Combinations are always being tested to see what eventuates.
Orders taken at any time and we can attempt to breed a particular type for you if possible.
To help you out a bit, I will outline a few basic definitions of terms used below :
Rex - curly coat, older animals become less curly than younger ones
Short Coat (SC) - basic coat of a wild mouse
Long Coat (LC) - longer silky guard hairs
Angora - Longer and fluffier than a long coat with longer guard hairs and undercoat. Some breeders consider this as just a better quality long coat.
Long Coat rex - the result of a mating between , fairly obviously, a LC and a rex
Texel - the result of a mating between an angora and a rex
Marked - Solid body colour with splashes of white
Self - body colour is all one colour
Fox - solid body colour with a white belly
"and tans" - solid body colour with a tan belly
Manx - tailless, or at most a short stump
Tiger - darker body colour with dark stripes
Snow Tiger - pale body colour with dark stripes
Below are some of the colours and coat types that we are currently working with.
