Tagetes Pigment Enhancer

Pure powdered extract of the African Marigold (Tagetes erecta). This powder is a potent source of pigment-enhancing xanthophylls, in particular, LUTEIN. This pigment is responsible for the yellow colouration in softbill birds. Typically in the absence of LUTEIN, these birds fade in colour whilst in captivity. Tagetes is an ideal supplement for use in softfood but is best utilised as a dusting on live food for those species reluctant to eat artificial diets like Eastern Yellow Robins or Golden Whistlers. Only 1/4 teaspoon is required per litre of livefood. It sticks readily to mealworms, maggots, crickets or termites. Unlike Spirulina, which must be dosed precisely, Tagetes cannot be over consumed so is safe. SOLD in 50g and 100g packs.
